Construction Report: March, 2002
By Kevin Wakelin, Project Manager

The last four weeks of construction have produced a steady pace of progress. The dryer weather has allowed our contractors to maintain their schedules and have reduced the curing and drying times of many trades, not to mention the pure psychological improvement of warmer, dryer working conditions!

This month has seen the continuation of the site improvements, grading and landscaping around the recently completed Buildings III and IV. We are also about to commence the installation of a number of new trees along the northern perimeter of the site, which will eventually form a beautiful scarlet screen of foliage in the coming years.

All the main underground utilities are also now complete.
With the last of the eight buildings now coming out of the ground, as you can see in the adjacent pictures, we’ll also be able to soon commence the last of the lateral utility connections and then complete the first assemblies of the road.

What's to Come in March:

Obtain the Certificate of Occupancy for Building VI
Pour foundations for Building I
Start framing Building I
Start MEP rough-ins for Building I
Remove scaffolding around Building V
Complete trim installations in Buildings II and V

That’s it for this month’s update. As always, don’t forget to check the Construction Report next month for additional updates on our progress, and if you haven’t registered already, please take a minute to register with us at www.ironhorselofts.com/registration.asp.  We will keep you abreast of the latest and greatest at Iron Horse Lofts!

Regards,

Kevin Wakelin
